【摘要】:ThegrindingmaterialsusedforthepreparationofthesurfacesofspecimenspriortoanalysisbyopticalemissionorX-rayemissionspectroscopycancontaminatethesurfaceandthusproduceerroneousresults.Thisguideprovidesexamplesoftheeffectsofthesecontaminationsandrecommendationsforevaluatinggrindingmaterialstoeliminateorreducetheseeffectsinspectrochemicalanalysis.Theexamplesgiveninthisguidearenottheonlycontaminationswhichcanoccur.EspeciallyinX-rayspectrometry,allphasesofthesurfacepreparationshouldbeexaminedforpotentialcontaminationeffects.Analyticalsignificanceofthecontaminationsobserveddependsontheneedsoftheanalystfortheparticularapplicationatagivenconcentrationlevel.1.1ThisguidecoversrecommendationsfortheevaluationofvariousgrindingmaterialsusedtopreparethesurfacesofspecimenstobeanalyzedbyopticalemissionorX-rayemissionspectroscopy.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
